They just had to terminate the Lakers.

They just could not leave it alone.

They picked at the scab and picked at it until the sore became infected, and there was pus oozing out, and it was left to Jerry Buss and Mitch Kupchak to clean it up, only they did not have the stomach for it and decided to amputate one of the most dynamic couples in NBA history.

Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe Bryant are no more.

There are no genuine winners in this affair, although Bryant ultimately got his way.

Buss and Kupchak come across as wimps, with their lips planted firmly on Bryant's backside.

In the case of Buss, he showed that money is thicker than blood after sending his daughter's boyfriend, the Zen Master, on his way to Montana. Buss, in an attempt to preserve the tranquility...
