Dow's elastomers business has one of the broadest range of elastomers of any supplier.

Following the re-organisation of Dow's elastomer unit, into Dow's speciality plastics and elastomers unit, and the de-merger of DuPont-Dow Elastomers, the company now specialises in ethylene elastomers, ranging from plastomers to thermoset EPDMs and thermoplastic ethylene-olefin elastomers. The company also offers SBR and polybutadiene rubber to the tyre industry and other sectors.

Pierre Burelli, head of the speciality elastomers business at Dow told ERJ that the company expects rapid growth over the next few years and has a target of 5 to 8 percent growth across the portfolio. He said the ethylene elastomers area will grow faster "into double-digit figures" but declined to predict the expected growth rate.
