Nueva York es cosa viva. Como todo lo vivo, muda. Como todo lo que muda, destruye y crea (que en esto consiste cambiar, algo viejo se destruye y algo nuevo se crea en su lugar). Así, cada vez que me ausento y regreso a la ciudad, me dispongo, a veces con cierta aprehensión, a levantar las actas de defunción.
