Imagine an electric light that looks like a candelabra - with the "candles" made of real wax.

You don't have to imagine. American Fluorescent makes fixtures like that now that can be ordered through lighting showrooms, and some of them might show up in stores like Menards next year.

Think about it. It would be very difficult to stick a regular light bulb inside a wax candle. To get enough light, your bulbs would also generate heat and risk melting the wax.

The answer is fluorescent lights, which create little heat.

Fluorescent lighting has come a long way, and its future is bright.
