A 22-year-old man was admitted for investigation of an eight-month history of recurrent urinary tract infections. His clinical history showed weight loss and chronic abdominal pain.

A small-bowel barium follow-through was performed to exclude Crohn's disease; within 48 hours the patient was passing milky urine, and abdominal radiography showed barium in the bladder and urethra.
