Lincoln is launching a new-product offensive for 2006 with a midsize sedan and a pickup truck.

The sudden surge in activity doesn't come any too soon, as the Ford Motor Co.'s traditional luxury brand has been languishing in sales and mind share.

The Mark LT represents Lincoln's foray into me pickup market, but it isn't the first. In 2002, the company introduced another four-door truck called the Lincoln Blackwood based on the Ford's full-size sport utility vehicle platform. The Blackwood didn't twirl the turnstiles at Lincoln dealers and was shortly retired.

The new Lincoln truck differs from the previous effort in two regards: When fully optioned, the Mark LT appears to be about $5,000 cheaper than the Blackwood and it is built...
