Library seeks young artists' entries

The Springfield Public Library is accepting entries until Thursday from artists in grades kindergarten through eighth in its annual bookmark contest to celebrate Children's Book Week, Nov. 14-20. Entry forms are available at the library or may be downloaded from the library's children's programs page at www.ci.springfield.or.us/library/jrprograms.html. Designs should focus on books, reading, libraries or the 2005 theme, "Imagine!" Winners' designs will be professionally printed with the artist's name and school and used in the library throughout the year. Winners will also be honored at a meeting of the Springfield City Council.
