Robert Breit, 25, of Palatine crossed the finish line first Sunday at the Shannon McNamara Memorial Scholarship Run, held at Rolling Meadows High School.

The former Illinois State Redbird and two-time cross country national qualifier finished the 5K through the surrounding neighborhoods and ending in the high school's football stadium in 16 minutes, 32 seconds.
