It was just 10 years ago that negotiations began between representatives of our community and the Boys and Girls Club of America about starting a Boys and Girls Club here in Dundee Township.

Ben Blake, who was police chief in Carpentersville, was familiar with the merits of the organization and spoke to Tom Mammoser of the Dundee Township Park District, who was running an Operation Outreach Program to provide athletic programs for youths from lower-income families.
