The debate is about illegal immigration

It seems that this whole immigration debate has lost focus; the problem is not immigration, it is illegal immigration.

Not one person I am acquainted with has a problem with legal immigration, but illegal immigration should be viewed the same way as any other illegal activity, despite the reasons behind it.

I know for a fact that if my relatives had not emigrated to the United States, I would be living in Italy right now! In addition, I have plenty of friends who have come to the states legally and are wonderful, law-abiding citizens who are grateful to be living here.
