The last large stores in The Waterfront retail development in downtown Port Chester are now due to be completed by the last week of October, leaving only some smaller retail space for restaurants and some other stores.

A 14-screen Loews cinema complex and a 36,000-square-foot Bed, Bath & Beyond store will probably open in the tail end of October, said representatives of each company. A Designer Shoe Warehouse is also due to open this fall. Other major stores already open at the site are Michael's Arts & Crafts, Marshall's, a "super" Stop & Shop supermarket and Costco.

By last month roughly 800 or 900 people had found full- or part-time jobs with one or another store at the shopping complex, even before the last two stores and the cinema complex opened, said...
