Sentir Semiconductor was formed in 1991 in response to Merit Medical(r) Systems' need for a reliable, high-yield pressure sensor solution for its pioneering digital inflation device. Sentir was founded by Fred Lampropoulos, who also founded Utah Medical Products(tm) and Merit Medical Systems, and by Manny Rossell.

Lampropoulos presently serves as chairman and CEO of Merit Medical Systems (South Jordan, UT)(www.merit.com). Founded in 1987, Merit Medical Systems, Inc. is engaged in the development, manufacture and distribution of proprietary disposable medical products used in interventional and diagnostic procedures, particularly in cardiology and radiology. Merit serves client hospitals worldwide with a domestic and international sales force totaling approximately 70 individuals. Merit employs approximately 1,270 people worldwide, and has manufacturing facilities in Salt Lake City and South Jordan, Utah; Santa Clara, California; Angleton, Texas; and Galway, Ireland.

Rossell, a co-founder of IC Sensors, presently serves as vice president and general manager of Merit Sensor Systems. Sentir was acquired by Merit Medical Systems in 1999, and the name was changed to Merit Sensor Systems. Today, Merit Sensor Systems focuses exclusively on component-level piezoresistive pressure sensing.

The Merit Sensor management team has recently grown and reflects a diversity of experience.
