No new taxes and more state funding for Westchester Medical Center were among the promises made last week by gubernatorial candidate Eliot Spitzer, the state attorney general, in an appearance before The Business Council of Westchester.

"We will see some infusion of cash (into the hospital) down the road if I win," said Spitzer. In return, he said, "some element of control (over the hospital) will have to be given to the state, not necessarily majority control."
