Event to discuss stopping gangs, hate groups
Local leaders will discuss how to stop youth gangs, hate groups and violent bullying before they take root, during an event at 11 a.m. today at courtroom No. 2 in the Lane County Juvenile Justice Center, 2727 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Eugene.
The event - "M.I.N.D. Our Teens" - includes speakers Lisa Smith, director of the Department of Youth Service; Judge Kip Leonard; Kraig Brockelman, an Oregon Youth Authority parole officer; and Commissioner Bobby Green.
