As the postseason approaches, area boys soccer teams are reflecting on what the season has already brought them as well as what is still to come.
Whether it is looking to continue success or hoping to improve on past mistakes, the postseason brings a fresh start to everybody and everybody looks to capitalize.
This year, postseason play brings a mixture of matchups including both new and old faces.
In the Class AA Lake Zurich supersectional, Prairie Ridge (No. 10 seed) will face the No. 12 seeded Johnsburg in the Libertyville sectional, while on the other side, the Palatine sectional will play host to Cary-Grove, Dundee-Crown, Crystal Lake South and Jacobs.
Currently at 8-5 overall and 5-0 in Fox Valley Conference play, Prairie Ridge has not seen Johnsburg in 2005 but will face the Skyhawks on Friday, October 14 at 4 p.m. as the Wolves host their own regional. The Wolves did return six key players from 2004, but currently lead the Fox Valley Conference with contributions from several different players.
Dundee-Crown (7-5) will open regional play on Wednesday, October 19 at 7 p.m. in the Lake Zurich regional.
