Golf isn't really considered a team game, but Bartlett senior Tim Kay sure is glad that high school golf has a team aspect to it.

Kay's day at Thursday's Upstate Eight Conference tournament was bittersweet. He lost the individual conference championship he had been poised to walk away with, but he reveled in his team's first- ever UEC title.

"It kind of overshadows not playing well," said Kay, who shot an 80, of the team title, which also allowed the Hawks to win the overall UEC crown for retiring coach Rod Bixby on his 55th birthday.
