NEW YORK, Oct. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Standard & Poor's, the leading provider of independent investment research, ratings and indices, reported today that there were 391 dividend increases for the third quarter of 2005 from the approximately 7,000 publicly owned companies that report dividend actions to Standard & Poor's Dividend Record. That number is unchanged from the same period in 2004.
