A new type of food company is making its way to coastal North County. It's called Dream Dinners and its customers sign up in advance to prepare weeks worth of frozen meals in a communal kitchen, then take them home.

Longtime friends Valerie Bass, 47, and Cathy Fairchild, 49, invested $35,000 to start the Dream Dinners franchise after having bought into the concept themselves.
