The economic health of Forrest and Jones counties is good. Both Pine Belt counties are hot spots on the I-59 Tech Corridor and are rapidly developing technology parks of their own.
Angle Dvorak, president of the Area Development Partnership (ADP), says representatives along the corridor continue to meet quarterly to plan and learn more about it. "It's viable and active," she said. "All of it has tremendous impact."
Things are going very well for the ADP's 500-acre Innovation and Commercialization Park located on the old Van Hook golf course. The master plan was done in 2004. The first phase of softening and straightening the access road from U.S. 49 is underway. In the second phase, the road will become a four-lane, lighted boulevard through the property.
