Bad ideas in wake of teacher strike threat

The Daily Herald issue of Aug. 26 included a headline article saying Naperville Unit District 203 may ask the state to ban teacher strikes. While I do not favor strikes on the part of critically important public employees (I include teachers in that group), I also do not favor yet another layer of laws making bona- fide collective bargaining even more difficult than it is today.
