Top-notch teenagers in Maine Township High School District 207 now will get a little extra time in the spotlight.

The school board recently OK'd a proposal to add a new student recognition program - titled "207's Best" - to its meetings from October to May.

Each month, the board will recognize one outstanding senior. Categories will rotate among Academic Achievement, Community Service, Improved Performance, Performing Arts/Elective Areas and Extra-Curricular Areas of Achievement. Winners will be invited to attend the board meeting with their parents and be honored with a plaque denoting their achievement.
