SAN DIEGO -- At a meeting of Episcopal Community Services staff this morning, the Rev. Amanda May, CEO, and the Rt. Rev. James Mathes, ECS board chair, announced a leadership transition and released a statement to ECS staff and to the churches of the Episcopal Diocese of San Diego. The following are portions of Rev. May's statement:

"For the last 11 years I have had the privilege of serving as the Executive Director of Episcopal Community Services. Last week, I discussed with the Board of Directors my discernment as to where God is now calling me to serve. As a result of these discussions, Bishop Mathes and I are working with a small committee of the Board and the senior management of ECS to develop a transition plan which allows this great organization the time to find new leadership.
