Roberta Pratt
Roberta B. Pratt of Eugene died June 14 of age-related causes. She was 88.
Pratt was born Nov. 21, 1915, in Grants Pass to Fredrick and Mary Klemmer Pappel. She married Cecil Pratt in Eugene on July 12, 1934. He died in 1986.
She lived in this area for 75 years and was a homemaker. She enjoyed flower gardening and music.
Survivors include two sons, Glenn and Gary, both of Eugene; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
No service is planned. Chapel of Memories Funeral Home in Eugene is in charge of arrangements.
Muriel Souza
Muriel M. Souza of Eugene died June 14 of age-related causes. She was 82.
Souza was born Feb. 13, 1922, in Saskatche- wan to John and Evelyn Williams Neilson. She married George Souza in Eugene on Nov. 28, 1939. He died Oct. 21, 1979.
She lived in Sacramento before settling in Eugene in 1936.
She graduated from high school. She worked as a secretary for the Eugene School District for 30 years.
She was a member of an Eagles Lodge for 10 years. She enjoyed golfing, fishing, bowling and skiing at Willamette Pass.
Survivors include a son, Farrell of Sisters; a daughter, Brenda Hatfield of Veneta; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. A son, Jon, died April 24, 1980.
No service is planned. Poole-Larsen Funeral Home in Eugene is in charge of arrangements.
Ethelyn Hutchins
SPRINGFIELD - A private service will be held for Ethelyn Evelyn Hutchins of Springfield, who died June 19 of age-related causes. She was 80.
Hutchins was born Feb. 7, 1924, in Salina, Kan., to Charles and Marie A. Chaddock. She married Earl Hutchins in Baldwin City, Kan., on May 15, 1945. He died Feb. 25, 1988.
She lived in this area for 60 years and she enjoyed camping and going on trips to oceans, beaches and mountains. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
Survivors include two daughters, Sandy Hanson of Salem and Debbie Orton of Greeley, Colo.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Burial will be at Lane Memorial Gardens in Eugene. Buell Funeral Chapel in Springfield is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Herman Thatcher
The funeral will be held June 26 for Herman Alexander Thatcher of Eugene, who died June 19 of age-related causes. He was 88.
