Special Olympics to hold competition in 3 events

CORRECTION (ran 6/26/04): Today's Special Olympics softball competition will take place at the Shasta Middle School ballpark, 4656 Barger Drive. The address was incorrect on Page D2 on Friday.

More than 500 Special Olympics athletes will compete in golf, softball and gymnastics Saturday.

Nearly 160 golfers will tee off at 10 a.m. at Riveridge Golf Course on N. Delta Highway. They will play both the 18-hole course and an adjacent nine-hole course.

Twenty-six softball teams, with more than 350 players and 85 coaches, will compete at Shasta Park, 2083...
