Juan Morillo was almost untouchable for four innings.

The Tri-City starter retired 12 of the first 13 batters he faced and struck out nine during that stretch as the Dust Devils built a 4-0 lead.

"He was throwing 95 miles per hour and throwing his slider for a strike, and I don't think most of our guys have seen someone throw that hard," Eugene manager Roy Howell said.

However, Morillo walked the first two batters in the fifth inning and started to struggle as he allowed three runs without registering an out before Tri-City manager Ron Gideon called Adam Bright in from the bullpen.

"We finally got (Morillo) into the stretch and got to him and you have to tip your hat to the guys for that," Howell said.
