"We're concerned about real estate and banking industries remaining separate," said John M. Dean Jr., ALC, of LANDMART/Dean Land & Realty Company in Leland. "It's best for consumers and for the professionalism of both industries. If banks control a broad spectrum, from making the loan to buying the insurance to selling the securities to handling the property, then it would reek of an antitrust-type situation."

Within the one million strong membership of the National Association of Realtors (NAR) are about 1,500 Realtors who are members of the Realtors Land Institute (RLI).
