The only thing missing from the grand opening of the new Santa Clara Fire Station was a roast pig on a spit and perhaps a cameo appearance by Don Ho.

Unlike the christening of the downtown Eugene station earlier this month where fire officials wore their formal uniforms, the Santa Clara open house featured a more casual Hawaiian theme with firefighters in colorful shirts, Panama hats and Bermuda shorts.

Tiki torches, pineapples, coconuts, miniature paper umbrellas and garbage cans wrapped in grass skirts...
