Options Update: AIG Steps Into the Spotlight, Again
The news radar is rather blank today, with the only blip being this morning's jobless claims. The Labor Department reported that first-time filings for state unemployment benefits saw an increase of 5,000 to a seasonally adjusted 310,000 last week. According to a survey conducted by MarketWatch, economists were expecting claims to rise to 317,000. The four-week average of new claims dropped by 250 to 318,250. Continuing jobless claims also increased by 32,000 to 2.60 million. This news was basically ignored by investors, as all eyes seem focused on tomorrow's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) report.
