It has been said that there are no funny lawyers--only funny people who have made bad career choices. How, then, can we lawyers keep from becoming too serious about ourselves? Luckily, many funny nonlawyers are happy to help us out. Some of these people are cartoonists, and some of their work has appeared in The New Yorker magazine.
The New Yorker is one of the world's great generalist publications, often called America's best magazine. It has a famously loyal readership (myself included), but, sadly, some weeks the only thing many of us get around to in the magazine is the cartoons.
