GRAND CANYON NATIONAL PARK, Ariz. -Imagine, if you will, a landscape so vast that one could walk for days and never see everything there is to observe.

Try picturing an artist's pallet with all the colors used to create a masterpiece. And then try imagining how those colors appeared hundreds of millions of years ago, when the Earth was in its infancy.

There aren't enough adjectives to do justice to this place, but I continue trying, nevertheless.

It has been called a "dismal abyss" by pioneers, while others have declared this place one of the most inspirational scenics on the planet.
