A technical workshop to identify potential relationships and to discuss common activities on IP Multimedia CN Subsystem (IMS) between 3rd Generation mobile standardization and the next generation fixed network standards makers attracted some ninety (90) engineers to the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI), in Sophia Antipolis, France.

One of the objectives of the workshop, jointly chaired by Alain Le Roux - ETSI TISPAN Chair and Magnus Olsson - 3GPP SA2 Chair, was to review high level requirements to accommodate xDSL Access to IMS service capabilities and to discuss potential relationships and possible collaboration arrangements between the Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) and ETSI Technical Committee TISPAN.
