Wausau Insurance Companies, which provides a fully automated electronic middle-market submission process for commercial agents, outlined the competitive edge tech can provide during last month's ACORD-LOMA Insurance Systems Forum in Orlando, Fla.

Wausau has worked hard to expand automated submission capabilities from personal and small-commercial lines to the more complex middle-market commercial arena (which the Wisconsin-based carrier defines as commercial accounts with premium volume between $75,000 and $2.5 million).

During the conference, the carrier revealed it has worked with AMS and Applied--two major agency management system vendors--to develop an interface technology compatible with their product.
