FRANKFURT, GERMANY - Avaya Inc. (NYSE:AV), a leading global provider of business communications applications, systems and services, today announced that its converged communications network, which has been powering operations at the FIFA Confederations Cup 2005 in Germany for the past three weeks, has delivered extremely high levels of performance, reliability and security. The fully converged voice and data network hardware will also be used and expanded for the 2006 FIFA World Cup(tm).
By the end of the tournament, which culminated on the 29th June providing victory to Brazil, the network had carried 9.1 terabytes; equivalent to 91 million books, or enough data to include the complete set of volumes contained in the European Union Central Library more than...
