A temporary city has risen on the grounds of Recreation Park in Arlington Heights.

For the past week, workers have raised tents and placed portable toilets. Carpenters have assembled loading docks and fry shacks. Electricians have connected lights and refrigerators. Trucks have brought food and propane gas to cook it.

All of this has been in preparation for the opening today of Frontier Days, the one of the largest summer festivals in the area.
