Indian Prairie parents aren't afraid to say exactly why they voted against the district's April tax increase request.

Now school officials have to be ready to hear it as they begin a grass-roots campaign to generate conversation about overcrowding in Indian Prairie Unit District 204 schools.

Superintendent Howard Crouse heard many of their views Tuesday while meeting with a group of referendum foes from Aurora's Oakhurst neighborhood.

"Judging from the livid expression on his face, I'm not sure he wanted to hear what the community had to say," resident Robert Johnson said.
