Monroe College dedicated a new dormitory on its New Rochelle campus recently, signifying a decade-long enrollment shift to fulltime, traditional students.

Two hundred freshmen, mostly 18-and 19-year-olds, were the first residents of Allison Hall, which opened in September at 368 Main St.

"Traditional" college-age students now constitute about 55 percent of the college's New Rochelle enrollment, compared with the adult students who dominated enrollment when the campus opened 10 years ago.
