Robert Tronson

DRAIN - Robert O. Tronson of Drain died June 26 of congestive heart failure. He was 88.

Tronson was born May 2, 1917, in Arlington, Wash., to Casper and Margit Christiansen Tronson.

He married DeMarris Beagle on Aug. 31, 1945, in Kelso, Wash.

He graduated from Arlington High School in Arlington, Wash. He served as a staff sergeant in the Army Air Corps in World War II from 1942 to 1945 in the European theater.

Tronson worked in the woods for many years, in high climbing and spar tree rigging, and also worked for Woodard Industries.

He worked as a dryer tender for a Weyerhaeuser plywood mill for 20 years and later restored homes and furniture for resale.

He had lived in the Cottage Grove area most of the time since 1950, but also lived in Albany during that period.

He enjoyed woodworking, playing the harmonica and reading. He belonged to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints First Ward in Cottage Grove.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Margit McReynolds of Cottage Grove and Meridee Morris of Drain; a sister, Ruth Jacobs of Arlington, Wash.; eight grandchildren; and nine...
