Former superintendent

returning to Lane ESD

A familiar face will lead the Lane Education Service District in the coming school year.

Mike Vermillion, who retired from the post in 2003, has signed a yearlong, $110,000 contract with the board of directors to serve as the interim superintendent through next June, Executive Assistant Barbara McBurnett said. He'll also assist the district in its search for a permanent replacement - something he has helped other districts do previously in his capacity as a consultant with the Oregon School Boards Association.
