CANBERRA, June 29 Asia Pulse - The nation's top economic bureaucrat today admitted he was puzzled by the continuing fall in the number of Australian men in the workforce.

Treasury secretary Ken Henry said it seemed strange that despite solid growth, increasing wealth and falling levels of unemployment, men aged between 15 and 54 were actually leaving the workforce rather than increasing in number.
