Letter spotlights selfishness of youth

In response to the May 30 letter titled "Forced national service is absurd," it reaffirms my suspicions that today's younger generation is 100 percent in it for themselves and not for their country or other citizens. What happened to "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country?"
