I have just been reading the Blue Book Number Nine: 'After the Deluge?' as a part of my Arena Magazineand, it being the time for reflection on the election and the commencement of another year, I have been doing some of my own thinking about the future of Labor.

I am a former member of the Fabian Society, a former ticket holder of the ALP and office holder in two states. I left the ALP after becoming disenchanted that the state electorate was being contested by a long time servant of the unions from the distant Midland who simply rented in the local area for the duration of the election and showed no interests in local issues. At the time, the ALP was in a state of disillusionment. No one from the Party ever asked me why I had chosen to resign nor followed up with any interest in my departure.
