The first thing you noticed were the banners.

Dozens of banners, all showing a white field divided by centered red lines horizontally and vertically, bearing the names of English towns and English teams, were draped wherever a banner could be draped in Soldier Field (dubbed "Soldier Field Stadium" in some international publications).

Saturday's exhibition match between the England and United States national teams was a celebration of soccer at the highest level that will be seen in Chicago for quite some time.
