No need for a tornado to whirl you off to the Land of Oz. The yellow brick road leads to the Hyatt Lisle, home to the Ozmopolitan Convention.

From Rhode Island to California, 100 conventioneers will descend on Lisle June 10, 11 and 12, toting Oz costumes, Oz books and Oz mementos for a weekend of fun and shared interests.

"The Ozmopolitan Convention is a gathering of friends," said Karen Owens, publicity chairwoman from Michigan. "We all have a common interest in the Wizard of Oz, either through the books or the movie."

"The Wizard of Oz" is an endearing tale written by Chicagoan L. Frank Baum and told through a series of books that have been spun into popular stage plays and memorable movies.
