Kim Strahan found her son's name Monday on one of 1,700 small paper U.S. flags lining the South Bank Path at Skinner Butte Park.

Each flag held the name and age of a soldier killed in Iraq, and stretched for more than a mile along the popular bike and jogging path.

It took Strahan about a half hour to find the flag bearing her son's name: Ken W. Leisten, 20.

"This was something he believed in and wanted to do," Strahan said. "Most of the people on these stakes wanted to be there (in Iraq)."

Meantime, across town a different type of Memorial Day remembrance was taking place.

About 300 people attended the Memorial...
