The Marshfield High School graduation ceremony will be held June 4. Speakers will include Catherine McKeown, member of the Coos Bay Board of Education; seniors Alison Fair, Kendal Yandell and Hailey Sheldon; and Principal Robert Line.

Eight students have been named class valedictorians: Heather Boardman, Jennifer Brookes, Mariel Confer, Kim Davidson, Scott Goodman, Alayna Hauntz, Erin Miller and Matthew Murray.

Boardman plans to study interior design or education at Oregon State University. She was selected for Upward Bound Math and Science program and played varsity volleyball.

Brookes, the daughter of Kevin and Peggy Brookes, is a four-year member of the cheer team, a Universal Cheer Association all-star and a member of the National Honor Society. She plans to study biology or biochemistry at Reed College.

Confer is the daughter of Mark and Melody Confer of Coos Bay. She plans to major in Japanese and minor in computer programming at Sinclair Community College in Ohio before transferring to a four-year...
