Australia Leading Economic Indicators and Related Composite Indexes for March 2005

NEW YORK, May 25 /PRNewswire/ -- The Conference Board announced today that the leading index for Australia declined 0.1 percent, while the coincident index increased 0.2 percent in March.

-- The leading index fell slightly in March following a moderate increase in February. Despite the small decline in March, the growth rate of the leading index has continued to fluctuate around a 1.5 to 2.5 percent annual rate, up from 0.0 to 1.0 percent in the third quarter of 2004, but still below the 5.0 to 6.0 percent reached in the first half of 2004.
