NEW YORK, May 26 /PRNewswire/ -- As scrutiny of public company disclosures intensifies under Sarbanes-Oxley, issues in corporate governance, Board responsibilities and executive compensation have become the subject of increased focus from industry analysts, executives and shareholders.

Over 50 of the nation's real estate leaders met May 12 to discuss these and other issues affecting the industry. At the Inaugural Corporate Governance Symposium, hosted by Deutsche Bank and FPL Advisory Group, discussions were led by panels of experts from various public companies in the real estate industry including real estate investment trusts (REITs), homebuilders, and hospitality and mortgage finance companies.
