Poets and artists may be able to conjure up the beauty of the moon, but witches have long been able to conjure up spells and magic using the influence of the moon's different cycles. Witches of old honoured the moon and today Wiccans continue to do so in sacred rituals called Esbats. We use the power and influence of the moon in spells and rituals to bring good luck, healing and peace to those who need it. As the moon looks over us all, wherever we are in the world, we can all tap into its ancient power, whether we are Wiccans or not.
So how can we tune into the moon and use Her magic in our everyday lives?
Firstly, we need to understand how the phases of the moon relate to us on a human level. To help us do this, we associate the moon with a Goddess, the Triple Goddess of the Moon. She is the Wiccan Goddess of death, fertility, rebirth and creativity. The Goddess of the Moon has three aspects, in tune with the moon's own cycles.
