Electric City Corp. applauds Xcel's Public Service Company of Colorado

(PSCo) for its recently announced Least-Cost Resource Plan (LCP), which includes a mix of new generation and demand side management programs. The LCP was recently approved by the Colorado Public Utilities Commission and is designed to help PSCo identify and acquire 2,500 megawatts of future electricity generating and demand side management resources.

PSCo is seeking competitive bids for approximately 2,500 megawatts of electric supply and demand-side resources in the utility's service territory, including the Denver metropolitan area to meet its estimated resource needs through 2013. Under the 'All-Source' bidding process, the company has issued Request For Proposals (RFPs) for three distinct and unique resources: Demand- Side Management, Dispatchable, and Non-Dispatchable power.
