Nationwide there has been a lot of debate over cloning, but if Geneva coach Doug Ross had the option to do it, he might very well clone senior Kim Smudde.

Smudde put together quite an extraordinary effort to help Geneva win its second straight Kane County Invitation track and field meet at Geneva on Friday night.

Literally saving her best for last, Smudde ran the final leg of the 1,600-meter relay and was able to surpass the Batavia team to ensure a Geneva victory in the meet. If Batavia would've beaten Geneva in the final event the teams would've tied, but instead the Vikings nipped the Bulldogs 89.40 to 85.40.

"It was pretty close with Batavia in the end there," Smudde said. "I didn't think I was going to catch her but I just kept my pace and I got her I guess."

Smudde also won the 800 for the Vikings...
